In an unexpected turn of events, Olawale Olaoni, also known as “Comrade,” the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for Ward 5 Councilorship in Ibadan North Local Government, has publicly collapsed his campaign structure in support of his opponent, Ajayi Hammed Olamilekan, alias “Solution,” from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The dramatic announcement occurred today in Ward 5, Ibadan North, where Olaoni made the surprising move of endorsing his rival, citing a belief that politics should not be a matter of do or die.
Speaking to the media, Olaoni praised Ajayi Hammed as a calm, reserved, and highly intelligent individual who has earned the affection and trust of the people of Ward 5.
Describing him as “likable and lovable,” Olaoni expressed confidence that Ajayi Hammed would effectively represent the constituency’s interests in the Ibadan North Local Government.
In response, Ajayi Hammed, the PDP Councilorship candidate, expressed gratitude to Olaoni for his gesture of support, promising to involve him in his future endeavors once elected.
He urged voters to turn out in large numbers to support him and the PDP chairmanship candidate, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, in the upcoming elections on April 27.
