In a remarkable display of solidarity and support, the villages comprising Ward Six of Atiba Local Government Area have united to endorse Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji WABKEM, along with his vice, Hon. Badmus Olaide Ismail, and the Councilorship candidate, Hon. Yusuff Ashamu, ahead of the upcoming local government elections.

This endorsement signifies a pivotal moment in the political landscape of the region, as communities within different villages unite behind a candidate they believe will champion their interests and aspirations to the desired democratic standard.

Heritage Echo News reaffirmed that the decision to endorse the advocate of the Restoration agenda in the royal Council stems from his proven track record of service, dedication, and commitment to the welfare of the people. As respected figures within the community, the Chairmanship candidate and his running mate have demonstrated unwavering resolve in addressing pressing issues facing Ward Six (06), ranging from infrastructure development to social amenities and youth and women empowerment initiatives, among others.

The endorsement process in villages of Ward Six (06) was characterized by a groundswell of grassroots support, with representatives from various villages coming together to pledge their allegiance to Hon. Wabkem/Olaide’s joint ticket candidacy.

This collective endorsement underscores the widespread recognition of their leadership qualities and ability to effect positive change directly impacting rural dwellers.

In her speech, Mrs. Kehinde (Onire Bara Village) lauded the campaign team led by the Councilorship candidate, Hon. Yusuff Ashamu, stating that the endorsement was a result of the PDP candidate’s readiness to provide productive solutions to mass hunger, inflation, and food scarcity, noting that these issues facing rural dwellers were reasons to back the PDP candidate to victory come April 27, 2024. She expressed commitment and readiness to exercise their franchise across units in all of Ward Six (06) to record a hundred percent voter turnout.

Separate comments on behalf of the villages, including Ijawaya, Busari, Onire Bara, Oloola, Ajonbadi, Ekefa, Jewo ese, Alagbon, from community leaders such as Alagba Arowona, Baba Ajobadi, Mr. Sunday, and others emphasized Hon. Wabkem/Olaide’s integrity, accessibility, and vision for inclusive governance at the grassroots. They highlighted their proven record of accessibility.

In a similar request, they appealed to the incoming Chairmanship candidate to assist in the asphalt tarred of rural roads for easy transport of farm produce, provision of seedlings, subsidized fertilizer, and farm inputs to curb rising inflation and provide sufficient food, meeting the demand for food by supplying food from domestic production.

In his remarks, the campaign Director-general of Wabkem/Olaide, Hon. Oyeleke Gabriel, assured them of dividends of democracy, noting that grading of roads would be a priority.

He further reiterated that Atiba Agribusiness Hub development is in line with the blueprints of the Chairmanship candidate when fortune smiles on him at the forthcoming grassroots elections.
