Professor Abdul‑Rahman Raphael Afonja, former Commissioner for Works and Transport in Oyo State, has congratulated former First Lady of Oyo State and matriarch of the Ajimobi family, Chief (Dr.) Florence Ajimobi, on her nomination as an ambassador by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a personally signed statement released to the press on Saturday in Ibadan, the Ogbomoso‑born educationist described the appointment as a positive development and lauded the Ajimobi nomination as a well‑deserved recognition of her exemplary service, dedication and loyalty to the nation, as well as to her progressive family.

Professor Afonja noted that Chief Florence Ajimobi has consistently demonstrated grace, patriotism, compassion and strength through her engagements and interventions.

He added that the ambassadorial nominee’s commitment to a better Nigeria is evident in the way she served Oyo State alongside her late husband, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, uplifting lives with honor.

 


 

 

He said: “On behalf of my family, I congratulate Mrs. Florence Ajimobi on her nomination as an ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Her nomination by His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a testament to her unwavering service to the nation. Chief Mrs. Ajimobi has always demonstrated strength in service and a commitment to excellence.

Her dedication to a better Nigeria is as strong as it was during her tenure in Oyo State with her late husband, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.”

Professor Afonja however commended the President for rewarding quality and loyalty, expressing confidence that both individuals will excel and bring honour to Oyo State and Nigeria.
