The Ido/Ibarapa Youths Movement has declared its support for Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji, popularly known as KSA, the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, while expressing reservations about the candidacy of Hon. Niyi Yusuf of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The group reportedly based its position on concerns about Yusuf’s age and what it described as the need for energetic, accessible and development-oriented representation capable of addressing the needs of residents across Ido and Ibarapa East.

It also questioned the reported support of Hon. Remi Oseni, the APC candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, for Yusuf’s candidacy, insisting that the interests and aspirations of the constituency’s residents should remain central to the selection of their representative.
According to the movement, the constituency needs leadership that prioritises youth development, infrastructure, community engagement and opportunities for economic advancement.
The group argued that young people should have a meaningful voice in the political process and called on candidates seeking elective office to demonstrate their commitment to the development of their communities.
In its remarks concerning Yusuf, the movement challenged him to publicly outline his achievements in Ido Local Government, particularly in the areas of youth empowerment, community development and infrastructure.

“We do not want a 73-year-old man to lead us when we have capable young people who can bring fresh ideas, energy and innovation to our constituency. We want leadership that will move Ido/Ibarapa towards greater development and prosperity,” the group reportedly stated.
The comments reflect the movement’s position on the candidates ahead of the 2027 elections. However, the claims concerning Yusuf’s age and record of public service, as well as the group’s assessment of his suitability for office, were not independently verified for this report.
Youths Highlight KSA’s Reported Development Interventions
In explaining its preference for KSA, the Ido/Ibarapa Youths Movement cited what it described as his contributions to grassroots development and community welfare.
The group attributed several interventions to the APM candidate, including youth development initiatives, women’s empowerment programmes, the provision of boreholes and electricity transformers, road construction and support for educational infrastructure.
According to the movement, such interventions demonstrate the importance of engaging directly with local communities and addressing challenges affecting residents’ daily lives.
It maintained that representation should be assessed not only through political promises but also through verifiable records of community engagement, development initiatives and responsiveness to constituents’ needs.
The group further expressed the view that sustainable development across Ido and Ibarapa East would require greater attention to infrastructure, education, economic opportunities and the participation of young people in governance.
The specific projects and interventions attributed to KSA were not independently verified as of the time of filing this report.
Movement Declares Support for KSA Ahead of 2027
Following its assessment of the candidates, the movement declared its support for KSA’s ambition to represent the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives under the APM platform.
The group said its position was informed by its assessment of the candidate’s reported grassroots initiatives and its desire for representation that places youth development and community advancement among its priorities.
It also urged residents, particularly young people, to examine the candidates’ records, public commitments and proposed development programmes as they prepare for the 2027 general elections.
The movement expressed its determination to support KSA’s aspiration, stating that its broader objective was to promote development, expand opportunities for young people and improve living conditions across Ido and Ibarapa East.
The endorsement represents the position of the Ido/Ibarapa Youths Movement. The size of the group, the extent of its membership and the level of support for its endorsement across the constituency were not independently established.
As political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, the positions of aspirants, their records of service and their development proposals are expected to remain central to public discussions about representation in the constituency.
