The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to grassroots development and improved public infrastructure with the donation of a 500KVA electricity transformer to the Sabo community in Ibadan North Local Government.

The transformer, strategically installed within the premises of the Sabo Central Mosque, is expected to significantly improve electricity supply to several communities across Sabo, bringing much-needed relief to residents, business owners, artisans, and other electricity consumers in the area.

The intervention forms part of Hon. Olufade’s ongoing efforts to enhance the living standards of residents through impactful community-based projects aimed at addressing critical infrastructure needs.




Residents and leaders of the Sabo community, while expressing profound appreciation to the council chairman, described the donation as a timely intervention that demonstrates his genuine concern for the welfare of the people.

They noted that access to reliable electricity would stimulate economic activities, improve security, and enhance the quality of life within the community.

According to the community leaders, the Olufade-led administration has continued to ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt at the grassroots through people-oriented projects that directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens.

The community further commended Hon. Olufade for complementing the good governance agenda of Governor Seyi Makinde, noting that both leaders have consistently demonstrated inclusive leadership without discrimination on the basis of religion, ethnicity, or social background.

They described Governor Makinde and Hon. Olufade as exemplary public servants whose developmental initiatives have continued to unite communities and foster peaceful coexistence across Oyo State.

The residents also applauded the decision to site the transformer at the Sabo Central Mosque, stressing that despite its location, the facility is meant to serve the entire Sabo community irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliation, reflecting the administration’s commitment to equity, inclusiveness, and the collective well-being of all residents.

The donation has since been greeted with widespread excitement across the community, with beneficiaries expressing gratitude to Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade for fulfilling yet another campaign promise and for prioritizing projects that address the pressing needs of the people.

Many residents expressed optimism that the improved power supply would boost commercial activities, encourage small-scale enterprises, and further accelerate socio-economic development in Sabo and its adjoining communities, while pledging their continued support for the administration’s developmental agenda.
