Oyo south senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) and federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency of Oyo state in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, alongside his wife, Alhaja Shakirat Adenike Olajide, have embarked on the sacred Umrah pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where they offered special prayers for peace, security and national development.
Speaking through his Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, Olajide said the spiritual journey provided an opportunity to seek Allah’s guidance, mercy and blessings for Oyo state, Nigeria and its people.
The couple, he said, offered prayers for the safe return of the schoolchildren and their teachers who were recently abducted in Oyo state, praying that almighty Allah grants them protection, comfort and speedy reunification with their families.
Olajide noted that the unfortunate incident has continued to weigh heavily on the hearts of residents of Oyo state and Nigerians at large, stressing that no family should be made to endure the pain and uncertainty associated with the abduction of innocent children.
He prayed that Allah grants wisdom, courage and divine direction to security agencies as they intensify efforts towards securing the unconditional release of all those still in captivity and restoring lasting peace to affected communities.
The federal lawmaker also committed the government and people of Oyo state to Allah in prayers, asking for enduring peace, unity, economic prosperity and sustained development across the state and prayed for divine guidance for leaders at all levels and for greater harmony among citizens, expressing optimism that Oyo state would continue to witness remarkable progress through responsible leadership and collective commitment to the common good.
The two term lawmaker further remembered Nigeria in prayers, seeking Allah’s intervention in the nation’s security, economy and democratic journey and prayed that the country would overcome its current security challenges and continue on the path of stability, justice, national cohesion and inclusive development.
The Oyo south senatorial candidate according to his aide, also offered prayers concerning the political future of Oyo state and the nation as preparations gradually gather momentum towards the 2027 general elections, seeking Allah’s grace upon the state, the country and it’s leaders who he prayed would place the welfare of the people above personal interests, uphold justice, promote unity and provide purposeful leadership capable of accelerating sustainable development.
Olajide expressed appreciation to the people of Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency and across Oyo south senatorial district, for their prayers, goodwill and support while also re-assuring them of his continued commitment to quality representation, grassroots development, youth empowerment, digital innovation and policies aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
