In a spectacle reminiscent of a carnival, Princess Folashade Azeezat Abeo NURUDEEN, the Iyaloja General of Oyo State, has initiated the distribution of business support palliatives to 2000 market traders across the five geopolitical zones of the state.

In her commitment to uplifting small-scale market traders, Princess Folashade Abeo commenced her support initiative with a visit to the Aseyin of Iseyin, targeting over 2000 market traders in Oyo State’s diverse geopolitical zones.

During her address, Princess Folashade Azeezat Abeo expressed her dedication to this empowerment program, aimed at aiding the elderly and petty traders facing the challenges of the subsidy removal by the Federal government.

This initiative aligns with the SAfER package of His Excellency, Governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde. Princess Folashade extended gratitude to Dr. Olusola Ayandele Eruobodo for supporting the cash palliative.

Oba Sefiu Oyebola Adeyeri III, Aseyin of Iseyin, in his welcome address, praised Iyaloja General, Princess Folashade Abeo for her impactful empowerment efforts, acknowledging her as part of the legacies of his predecessor as one of the Oyo Obas that witnessed her coronation. He affirmed his full support for her recognition process by the state government.

In a remarkable gesture during the Oke Ogun zone tour at Oja Oba market in Iseyin, Princess Folashade Azeezat Abeo empowered over 100 market traders with ₦10,000 cash palliative each. Artisans, including hairdressers and tailors, received 6 sewing machines and 6 hair dryers.

Originally planning to distribute one sewing machine and one hair dryer, Princess Folashade’s intention received a boost when Pastor Alayande Ajibola, a visitor to the Aseyin Palace, pledged an additional 5 sewing machines and 5 hair dryers for the market traders.

Furthermore, the Iyaloja General distributed world market grants forms to large-scale market traders, with each form potentially securing ₦1,600,000 in support.

The empowerment program is set to continue tomorrow at the Ado Awaye Iyake Festival, extending to other parts of Oke Ogun in the coming days.
