The Supervisory Councilor for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion in Ibarapa North Local Government, Hon. Nafisat Opeyemi Gbadegesin, has commended the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for Ibarapa North/Ibarapa Central State Constituency in the forthcoming general election, Hon. Lawal Lateef Akorede, for distributing food items and cash gifts of N50,000 each to over 100 elderly women across the local government area.
In a statement made available to journalists, Hon. Nafisat Gbadegesin described the gesture as another clear demonstration of Hon. Akorede’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people, particularly the elderly and vulnerable members of society.
She noted that the distribution, which saw beneficiaries receive bags of rice, beans, and other essential food items alongside cash support of N50,000 each, further reflects the Chairman’s compassionate leadership style and his determination to continually put smiles on the faces of his people.
According to her, Hon. Akorede has consistently distinguished himself as a leader who remains responsive to the yearnings and aspirations of the masses, irrespective of age, gender, or social status.
“Hon. Lawal Lateef Akorede has once again proven that he is a true man of the people.
At a time when many families are faced with economic challenges, he chose to extend a helping hand to over 100 elderly women by providing them with foodstuffs and N50,000 cash gifts each.
This is not only commendable but also a reflection of his genuine love and concern for the welfare of the people,” she said.
The Supervisory councilor further praised the Chairman for his consistent recognition of the role women play in societal development, noting that both young and old women have continued to benefit from his inclusive leadership and people-oriented policies.
She stated that women across Ibarapa North and the entire Ibarapa region remain appreciative of the numerous interventions and empowerment initiatives facilitated by Hon. Akorede since assuming office.
Hon. Nafisat Gbadegesin added that the Chairman’s accessibility, humility, and commitment to grassroots development have earned him the admiration and support of many residents within and outside the local government.
She assured the APM House of Assembly candidate of the unwavering support of women in all his political and developmental endeavors, particularly as he prepares to contest the forthcoming general election.
