The Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport, Professor Kehinde Sangodoyin has stated that the State Government has fixed the flooded portion on the Odo-Ogun bridge on the recently commissioned Oyo-Iseyin road.
Sangodoyin revealed this on Thursday when his attention was drawn to social media posts where the attention of the Oyo State Government was drawn to the portion underneath the bridge.
According To the Hon. Commissioner, “This was noticed on Tuesday.
“There was a high rise of the water in the river due to the heavy downpour of Tuesday which eroded the laterite materials on the embankment.
“When we noticed that, we swiftly swung into action and protected the embankment with heavy and large stones to avoid any future recurrence.
“That has been rectified, the failed stone pitching was as a result of the heavy waters on the side .
“We have treated it and we will extend the stone pitching once the rain subsides,” the Commissioner concluded.
