In the Friday match, the Nigerian national football team, also known as the Super Eagles, were poised to clinch a victory but were thwarted by Saudi Arabia, who made a comeback and scored a late goal, leading to a 2-2 draw in the international friendly.

The Green Falcons initially took the lead early in the second half with a goal by AL Faraj in the 60th minute, appearing to have control of the game and a path to victory. Nevertheless, Nigeria managed to level the scoreline with an own goal by Al Amri in the 73rd minute before Kelechi Iheanacho scored Nigeria’s second goal in the 81st minute.

As the match approached its conclusion, Saudi Arabia seized an opportunity and capitalized on it by scoring a late goal, thwarting the Super Eagles’ victory and resulting in a draw.

Although this was a friendly match, both teams were eager to showcase their skills and build momentum for upcoming competitions. The draw was undoubtedly disappointing for the Super Eagles, who came close to securing a win.
