The initiative forms part of the Foundation’s sustained efforts to improve access to quality educational support, promote academic excellence and equip young people with the necessary skills and confidence to compete favourably in national examinations.

Established in 2024 in loving memory of the founder’s late father, Mr. Oguntoye Siyanbade John, popularly known as Okuta, the Foundation was born out of a vision to create meaningful educational opportunities for young people and support deserving students in achieving their academic ambitions.

Since its establishment, OEF has remained committed to this vision through various educational interventions, particularly its educational grant programme for students from Iwajowa Local Government who score 240 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Through the initiative, the Foundation seeks to encourage hard work, reward academic excellence and ensure that financial limitations do not become an insurmountable barrier to higher educational aspirations.

In its continued assessment of the educational challenges confronting students in the area, the Foundation identified limited access to affordable digital past questions and adequate Computer-Based Test (CBT) practice opportunities as some of the factors affecting students’ preparedness for the UTME.

In response, OEF introduced a dedicated CBT Practice Section on its official website, [www.okutaeducationalfoundation.org] to provide students with convenient access to digital examination practice resources.

The platform is designed to familiarise students with the CBT examination environment, enable them to practise past questions and improve their speed, accuracy and confidence ahead of their examinations.

Demonstrating its determination to ensure that the initiative reaches its intended beneficiaries, the Foundation embarked on a school-to-school sensitisation and digital orientation exercise across seven secondary schools in Iwajowa Local Government.

The Founder personally participated in the visits, guiding students through practical demonstrations on how to access the Foundation’s website, navigate the CBT practice section and utilise the available learning resources.

The students were also encouraged to take advantage of the platform by practising regularly and preparing diligently for their examinations.

The schools visited during the exercise include:

  1. Ilupeju Community Grammar School, Iwere-Ile.
  2. Community Grammar School, Idiko Ago.
  3. Community Grammar School, Iganna.
  4. BHS, Iganna.
  5. Itile Comprehensive High School, Itasa.
  6. ADS Model High School, Iwere-Ile.
  7. Iganna High School, Iganna.

The exercise provided an opportunity for direct engagement with students, helping them understand the importance of digital literacy and the need to embrace modern learning tools in preparing for competitive examinations.

As part of the engagement, the Foundation’s delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Iganna Kingdom.

The royal father warmly received the team and commended the Founder for his foresight, generosity and unwavering commitment to improving educational opportunities for young people in the community.

He particularly applauded the Foundation’s efforts to bring digital educational resources closer to students, describing the initiative as a laudable contribution to the future of the younger generation.

The royal father also offered prayers for God’s continued guidance, blessings and provision for the Founder, expressing hope that the Foundation would continue to expand its reach and extend its interventions to more communities and deserving beneficiaries.

For the Okuta Educational Foundation, the introduction of digital CBT practice goes beyond providing an online learning platform. It represents a deliberate investment in the future of young people and a practical response to some of the educational challenges confronting students in underserved communities.

The Foundation maintains that a child’s geographical location or financial background should not determine the extent of their academic opportunities.

By combining educational grants with accessible digital learning resources, OEF is working towards raising a generation of confident, well-prepared and academically competitive young people who can pursue their dreams and contribute meaningfully to society.

Looking ahead, the Foundation is encouraging more students across Iwajowa Local Government to take advantage of the CBT practice resources available on its website, prepare consistently for their UTME examinations and position themselves for the opportunity to benefit from its educational grant programme.

Its message to students remains clear: Prepare, Practise, Excel and Become a Beneficiary of the Okuta Educational Foundation Grant.

As the Foundation continues to expand its educational interventions, the legacy of the late Mr. Oguntoye Siyanbade John, fondly remembered as Okuta, lives on through a vision that places education at the centre of opportunity, empowerment and community transformation.
