Speaking at the event, the Sarkin Hausawa of Ibadanland, Alhaji Muhammad Shuaibu Dikko II, expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman for choosing Sabo community as the venue for the official flag-off of the immunisation exercise.

He noted that the Sabo community greatly appreciated the Chairman and his administration for the gesture, assuring him of the community’s continued support and cooperation whenever the need arises.

The traditional ruler also used the opportunity to remind the Chairman of the outstanding request concerning Samon Bola, expressing the community’s expectation that the matter would receive the necessary attention.

In his remarks, Hon. Olufade expressed profound appreciation to the Sarkin Hausawa of Ibadanland, Alhaji Muhammad Shuaibu Dikko II, and his council of chiefs for their tremendous support and mobilisation efforts, particularly in ensuring that members of the community turned out in large numbers to participate in the exercise.

The Chairman disclosed that despite his demanding schedule, he considered the immunisation exercise important enough to personally attend the ceremony and officially declare it open, emphasising his administration’s commitment to the health and well-being of residents.

He urged the entire Hausa community and other residents of Ibadan North to give the exercise maximum cooperation, particularly by ensuring that children between the ages of zero and 59 months are presented for polio vaccination.

Olufade further stressed that immunisation remains a critical public health intervention in protecting children against the poliovirus and preventing the devastating consequences of the disease, including lifelong paralysis.

He therefore appealed to parents and caregivers not to hesitate in welcoming health workers and presenting their eligible children for vaccination, noting that protecting children against preventable diseases requires collective responsibility and community-wide participation.
