In his message marking the special occasion, Oladebo Simple described teaching as one of the most consequential professions in any society, noting that teachers do far more than deliver lessons in classrooms.

According to him, they help discover talents, build confidence, nurture values, encourage discipline, and provide young people with the knowledge and direction needed to navigate life.

He stressed that every successful professional, public servant, entrepreneur, community leader, scientist, artisan, and other contributor to society has, at one point, been influenced by a teacher.

“Behind virtually every accomplished person is a teacher who taught, encouraged, corrected, inspired or believed in that person.

That is the extraordinary influence teachers have on society,” he said.

The APM chairmanship candidate further acknowledged the demanding conditions under which many teachers carry out their responsibilities, describing their patience, perseverance, and commitment to their pupils and students as worthy of recognition.

He noted that while governments and stakeholders have a responsibility to improve educational infrastructure, teachers’ welfare, training, and learning environments, the dedication of teachers themselves remains an essential ingredient in achieving meaningful educational outcomes.

Oladebo Simple emphasized that the strength of a community cannot be separated from the quality of education available to its children, adding that investing in teachers is ultimately an investment in the future of families, communities, local governments, and Nigeria as a whole.

He therefore called on parents, government authorities, traditional institutions, community leaders, and other stakeholders to accord teachers the respect and support they deserve.

“We must never underestimate the power of a teacher. A teacher may stand before a classroom today without knowing exactly what the children before them will become tomorrow, but among those children could be the leaders, doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, academics and nation-builders who will shape our future,” Oladebo Simple stated.

He expressed his appreciation to teachers across Egbeda Local Government, Ajorosun LCDA, Oyo State, and Nigeria for their service and sacrifices, urging them to remain committed to the noble responsibility of moulding the next generation.

Oladebo Simple also reaffirmed his belief that education must remain central to any meaningful development agenda, noting that a society that prioritises the education and welfare of its children is a society preparing itself for sustainable growth.

He congratulated teachers on their special day and wished them renewed strength, wisdom, fulfilment, improved welfare, and greater appreciation for their invaluable service.

“To every teacher who wakes up each day to teach, guide, correct, encourage and inspire our children, I say thank you. Your work may sometimes appear quiet and unnoticed, but its impact echoes across generations. Happy Teachers’ Day.”
