The Polytechnic, Ibadan has announced the commencement of admissions into its full-time, evening and weekend part-time programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session, unveiling a range of newly accredited courses designed to meet the demands of today’s evolving job market.
The institution disclosed that admission is currently ongoing for both National Diploma and Higher National Diploma across its 83 academic programmes offered under six faculties and one institute, providing prospective students with diverse opportunities to pursue quality technical and professional education.

Among the newly accredited programmes are Tourism Technology Management, Crime Management, Food Science Technology, Chemical Engineering, Fashion Technology, Mechatronics (Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Robotics), Cooperative Economics and Management, Pharmaceutical Technology, Taxation, Photography, and Library and Information Science, alongside over 32 additional courses available through the institution’s admission portal.




The institution has also introduced new Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in Tourism Management Technology, Taxation, Photography, Metallurgical Technology, Strategic Communication and Media Studies, Film and Multimedia Production, and Cooperative Economics and Management.
The Polytechnic noted that the new programmes reflect its commitment to expanding academic offerings in line with global technological advancement, industrial demands and national development priorities.
The institution also emphasized that all full-time programmes are equally available under its Evening and Weekend Part-Time schemes, giving working-class individuals and other prospective students greater flexibility to earn nationally recognised qualifications without disrupting their daily activities.

Academic programmes are spread across the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Business and Communication Studies, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Environmental Studies, Faculty of Financial Management Studies, and the Faculty of Social Management and Humanities.
Prospective candidates seeking admission into the institution are encouraged to visit the admission portal for detailed information on available programmes, admission requirements and application procedures.
The Polytechnic, Ibadan also stated that candidates who scored 100 marks and above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and possess the required O’Level credit passes or their equivalent are eligible to apply and will be considered for admission into the institution.

Prospective candidates for the National Diploma (ND) full-time programmes must have chosen The Polytechnic, Ibadan as their first choice in the 2026/2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or process a change of institution to the Polytechnic.
Applicants must also have scored a minimum of 100 in the UTME.
For Higher National Diploma (HND) full-time programmes, candidates are required to possess a relevant National Diploma (ND) certificate with at least a Lower Credit and one year of industrial experience, or a Pass grade with a minimum of two years of industrial experience.
The Polytechnic, Ibadan also stated that candidates seeking admission into its Daily Evening Part-Time Programme (EPP) must have obtained a minimum UTME score of 80 in the 2026/2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Interested applicants are also required to obtain the official Part-Time Application Form through the institution’s admission portal before completing the application process.
For the Weekend Part-Time Programme (WPP), candidates seeking admission into the National Diploma (ND) programme are required to obtain the prescribed weekend Part-Time Application Form through the Polytechnic’s admission portal. Applicants for the Higher National Diploma (HND) Weekend Part-Time Programme must possess a relevant National Diploma (ND) certificate in their chosen field of study and obtain the HND Part-Time Application Form via the institution’s portal before completing their application.
