Continuing the Royal Council Ward-to-Ward tour for familiarization, peace accords, and strategic movement ahead of next year’s local government elections in Oyo State, Atiba PDP Ward two (02) stakeholders, leaders, and faithful members have declared support for the chairmanship candidate Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji WABKEM, his vice Badmus Ismail Olaide, and all councilorship candidates.

This unanimous declaration was made on Monday during their weekly ward meeting at Iyalamu Area, Oyo township.

Name of all Atiba PDP candidate cleared by OYSIEC are:

Chairman — Wahab Waliu Adetunji

Vice Chairman — Badmus Ismail Olaide

Councilor ward 1 – Bello Kazeem Kolawole
Councilor ward 2 – Musa Kaosara Oriyomi
Councilor ward 3 – Adebayo Adewale Raheem
Councilor ward 4 – Adewale Afeez Abiodun
Councilor ward 5 – Ademola Kayode Adeniyi
Councilor ward 6 – Ashamu Yusuff Olalekan
Councilor ward 7 – Oyekan Akeem Oyewole
Councilor ward 8 – Ganiyu Abass Oyelakin
Councilor ward 9 – Oyekola Oluwasegun Gabriel
Councilor ward 10 – Okunlola Abiola Emmanuel

In a joyous mood, Mr. Agboola Tayo, the PDP Ward 02 Chairman, commended the candidates certified by the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC). He noted that various unfounded claims by enemies of progress would be laid to rest, assuring that Ward 02 would continue to support the restoration agenda of the incoming administrator.

Tayo charged all PDP members in Atiba to work towards the success of the party in the April 2024 council poll, adding, “I’m optimistic for tremendous development awaiting the Royal Council.” He maintained that the PDP aims to sweep all votes across the board and called for cooperation and support for the candidates.

Hon. Kabiru Ashamu, the PDP Party Chairman in Atiba local government, lauded the warm reception of the Ward 02 stakeholders to the familiarization tour and ward-to-ward unveiling of the 2024 candidate. He expressed confidence in massive PDP victory across all units and wards in the Atiba council area.

Alhaji Kamorudeen Elebo-nla urged the chairmanship candidate to kickstart progressive grassroots development when fortune smiles on him at the poll, also emphasizing the importance of not forgetting Ward 02 when appointments arise.

Leader Adeyi Opeyemi, Baba Agboola, and Alhaji Quadri Olatunji and Alhaji Olanrewaju Muhammed joyously lamented that since 1999, Atiba Ward 02 has remained an active ward, highlighting that now is the time for Wabkem to lead the Royal Council due to his uncommon foresight.

The leaders praised the effective screening conducted by OYSIEC, leading to the confirmation of Wabkem, Olaide, and all councilorship leadership in the Royal Council. They assured residents of Atiba to prepare for the swearing-in of the restoration team, loaded with a productive manifesto to correct wrongs, reclaim developmental strides, and promote Atiba’s economy.

Hon Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem thanked Ward 02 and all PDP members for their uncommon commitment to his candidacy and all councilorship candidates. He urged aggrieved members to sheathe their swords, emphasizing the inclusivity of the party.

Wabkem outlined his race to bring back the progressive legacy of the Royal Council, including all-round development, wooing investors, capacity building for youth and women, empowerment, job creation, and maintaining close relations with party executives.

In his entourage are all councilorship candidates, all PDP local executives led by Hon. Kabiru Ashamu, all ward chairmen, chieftains, stakeholders, Team Wabkem, and several others.
