The Napoli player outshone Mohamed Salah and Achraf Hakimi, becoming the first Nigerian since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999 to claim this prestigious honor.

In a parallel success, Asisat Oshoala, the Barcelona star, clinched her sixth women’s award, maintaining Nigeria’s dominance.

Winners are determined by a panel comprising Caf’s technical committee, African media professionals, and input from head coaches, captains, and clubs in Caf’s continental competitions.
