






The newly installed Mayegun of Ofa-Igbo Land in Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State, Olanrewaju Ola, has promised to contribute more of his resources towards the growth and development of the town in particular and the state in general.
He made the promise during his installation, held on Tuesday , 23rd of December at the palace of the Olofa of Ofa-Igbo Land, Oba Adeboye Oyelowo, in Lagelu, Ibadan metropolis.
Ola said, “I will utilise my position as the Mayegun of Ofa-Igbo Land to leverage my modest influence, relationships and experience for the growth and overall development of Ofa-Igbo in particular and the state in general.”
He described the title as deeply personal, noting that he has ancestral roots in the area.




Also speaking, the Olofa, Oba Oyelowo, charged the new chief to strive to make a positive and indelible mark in the town, urging him to always be mindful of actions that could ridicule his chieftaincy title and the community.
He advised him to work harmoniously with other chiefs and collaborate with prominent sons and daughters of the town to form a formidable force capable of driving rapid development.
“Ofa-Igbo has existed before many developed towns in this state; we want our illustrious sons and daughters to come back home to develop their place of origin.
“To my new chief, I urge you to work harmoniously with other chiefs to form a formidable force that would bring rapid growth to the ancient town,” he said.
Ola is an Ibadan-based media practitioner and community development advocate. He was installed as Mayegun, a traditional title rooted in service, leadership and cultural responsibility.
He is an associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and the Institute of Personality Development and Customer Relationship Management, among other professional bodies.
