The Vice Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Political Head/Administrator of Ajorosun LCDA, Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple, has extolled the outstanding leadership qualities of the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, following what he described as a world-class, impeccably coordinated, and historically significant hosting of the 2025 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention in Ibadan.
Hon. Simple stated that Governor Makinde once again proved himself as a master organiser, a visionary leader, and a unifying force within the PDP and the Nigerian political landscape.
He noted that the successful convention was not an accident, but a demonstration of Makinde’s strategic brilliance, administrative strength, and unwavering dedication to uplifting the party and the state.>
“Governor Seyi Makinde has shown the entire nation what true leadership looks like.
Under his guidance, Ibadan delivered a convention that stands as a benchmark for political organisation, unity, and excellence,” Simple said.
He added that the Governor’s ability to host thousands of delegates, party chieftains, and national leaders seamlessly in Ibadan has not only elevated the image of the PDP but has reaffirmed Oyo State’s place as a stabilizing center of political direction in Nigeria.
Hon. Simple further applauded the newly elected National Chairman of the PDP, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, describing his emergence as a breath of fresh air and a symbol of renewed confidence in the future of the party.
“The election of Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, represents a new dawn for the PDP.
He is a leader with depth, experience, and a commitment to unifying and repositioning the party.
I congratulate him wholeheartedly and wish him a successful tenure,” he said.
He also celebrated the election of Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja as the National Secretary of the PDP, noting that Oyo State is proud to have one of its finest take on such a critical national assignment.
“Ambassador Arapaja has always been a pride to Oyo State.
His elevation is well-deserved, and I am confident he will bring discipline, experience, and renewed energy to the national secretariat of our party,” he added.
Hon. Simple extended warm congratulations to all newly elected national officers of the party, urging them to channel their energies toward unity, loyalty, and collective progress.
He emphasized that the success of the 2025 PDP National Convention has reinforced Ibadan’s well-earned reputation as the political heartbeat of the South West—a position made possible by the visionary and people-centric leadership of Governor Makinde.
