Special Adviser to Governor seyi makinde on housing and urban development, hon. Akinsete Olakunle wishes to extend its deepest appreciation to all participants, speakers, sponsors and stakeholders who contributed to the resounding success of the “Real Estate and Economic Development in Oyo State: Strategies for Success” conference held on Wednesday, 5 November 2025 at the Jogor Event Centre, Ibadan.

Organised by the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor Seyi Makinde on Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Akinsete Olakunle, in collaboration with the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN) Oyo State chapter, the conference brought together industry leaders, policy-makers, developers, investors and professionals in a powerful dialogue set to shape the future of property and infrastructure across the state.

The Special Adviser, Akinsete Olakunle expressed warm thanks and pointed out that the event’s success marks a major step forward in aligning real estate growth with broader economic vision.

“Thank you to everyone who travelled from far and near, who shared ideas, who engaged in discussion and who committed to collaboration.

 


 

 

Your presence and input have transformed this conference from an event into a movement,” Hon. Akinsete Olakunle said.

He emphasised that the conference was not only about showcasing opportunities, but also about driving structured, sustainable growth in conformance with government policy and the state’s masterplan.

In his address, Hon. Akinsete Olakunle highlighted that a key outcome of the conference was agreement on the imperative for developers to operate in strict alignment with government policies and the approved masterplan for Oyo State.

This, he stressed, is essential if the state is to realise its full potential as a prime destination for innovative, sustainable real-estate investment and inclusive urban growth.

The conference featured robust panel sessions, expert-led workshops and exclusive networking opportunities, all geared towards equipping participants with real-world strategies and investment insights.

Among the key themes were sustainable building practices, investment models tailored to the state’s emerging economy, and policy frameworks that support structured growth.

Hon. Akinsete Olakunle thanks all those who contributed to this landmark event, from the planning team and event staff, to each developer, investor, speaker and delegate.
