The head of the Oluyole Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty Oba Hamidu Ajibade, has declared his unflinching support for the Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji, describing him as a “beloved son of the land” whose leadership has brought visible progress to the grassroots.

Oba Ajibade made the remarks during the week shortly after leading a delegation of traditional rulers on a courtesy visit to Olatunji at the Idi-Ayunre Council Secretariat.

Speaking with newsmen after the visit, the monarch praised Olatunji’s outstanding performance since assuming office, noting that his administration has set a new benchmark for good governance at the grassroots level.

“Asiwaju Olatunji has distinguished himself from all his predecessors through unprecedented grassroots development and his commitment to the welfare of our traditional institution,” the monarch said.

He further commended the council boss for his humility, kindness, and deep respect for elders, describing him as a true reflection of the Yoruba ideal of Omoluabi; a person of integrity, discipline, and good character.

“His humility and humane nature set him apart. He listens to everyone, young and old alike without discrimination. That is the mark of a true leader,” Oba Ajibade added.

The royal father went on to explain that the Asiwaju Oluyole title bestowed on Olatunji was not an ordinary or politically motivated honour, but a deliberate acknowledgment of his exceptional service and genuine connection with the traditional rulers.

“The Asiwaju Oluyole title is not political, and it was not given lightly. Nobody has ever held that title before in Oluyole. We created it to make a bold statement about his remarkable performance and the robust relationship he has built with the traditional institution,” the monarch stated.

Oba Ajibade urged all elected and appointed officials in the local government to work in unity with Olatunji, emphasizing that collective effort was key to transforming Oluyole into a thriving socioeconomic hub within Oyo State.

While cautioning against acts capable of undermining the council chairman’s administration, the royal father warned individuals or groups against attempts to sow discord or frustrate the ongoing development strides.

He assured that the traditional institution in Oluyole stands firmly behind Olatunji’s leadership and will continue to support his efforts to uplift the lives of residents across the council area.

“From the Oluyole Traditional Council to the palace of the Olubadan, Olatunji remains our beloved son. We are proud of him and the path he is charting for our people,” Oba Ajibade concluded.
