A former Federal House of Representatives aspirant and respected grassroots mobilizer in Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Matthew Alani Oyeniyi, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Governor Seyi Makinde and his wife, Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde, on their recent conferment of the revered chieftaincy titles of Aare Omoluabi and Yeye Aare Omoluabi of Akure Kingdom.

The titles were bestowed upon the First Family of Oyo State by the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, in a colourful and culturally rich ceremony held at the Deji’s Palace on Friday, July 18, 2025.

In a personal statement made available to journalists, Hon. Oyeniyi hailed the honour as a profound endorsement of the Makindes’ leadership, character, and unwavering service to the people of Oyo State and beyond.

“The conferment of these noble titles is not only well-deserved but also timely. His Excellency, Governor Makinde, has continuously exemplified the virtues of an Omoluabi, a leader who is honourable, selfless, and accountable to his people,” Oyeniyi stated.

He further applauded the governor’s inclusive governance style and enduring commitment to human capital development, noting that his performance has repositioned Oyo State as a beacon of progress in Nigeria.

Turning attention to the First Lady, Hon. Oyeniyi praised Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde for her silent but powerful impact in the areas of social welfare, family values, and women empowerment.

“The conferment of the Yeye Aare Omoluabi on Her Excellency is a testament to her elegance, humility, and tireless work behind the scenes. She has been a quiet strength to her husband and a strong voice for many vulnerable people in our society,” he added.

The former Ward 12 Councilor emphasized that the honour bestowed by the Deji-in-Council is not just ceremonial but symbolic of the widespread respect the Makinde family enjoys across Yorubaland.

“This is a proud moment for us in Ibadan North and for all well-meaning citizens of Oyo State. The recognition from the ancient Akure Kingdom reaffirms what we already know that the Makindes are leading with distinction and with values deeply rooted in our cultural heritage.”

Hon. Oyeniyi concluded by praying for greater strength, wisdom, and protection for the Governor and his wife as they continue to lead with honour and integrity.
