Just some moments ago, I concluded a deeply emotional and highly critical consultative meeting with my core campaign team, including our dedicated ward and local government coordinators, and the steering executives who have selflessly carried the banner of our aspiration from the very beginning.

Our discussions were extensive, reflective, and anchored on the deep-seated love we all share for our dear state. These remarkable men and women, alongside countless well-meaning citizens of Oyo State, are the sole reason I entered this race.

They gave our vision its heartbeat, stood by me through every strategic milestone, and definitively proved that a movement built on logic, good conscience, and real policy direction is precisely what our people crave for their collective good.

During this intensive session, I communicated to the house the high-level directives and consensus framework reached by the leadership of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), at both the national and state levels, regarding the choice of Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, PhD, as the consensus candidate for Oyo State. Our internal debate was frank and thoroughly exhaustive, it further reflects the broader and complex realities that must occasionally play out within a robust democratic setting.
We have always maintained that the party remains supreme, and this is an organisational ideology I have not only lived by but have consistently preached throughout my years in public life, and particularly since joining the APC.
It is this fundamental discipline and progressive orientation that binds us together as a family, which also ensures that the collective destiny of our party always supersedes individual aspirations.
In the midst of all of this, I feel a profound duty to sensitively call the attention of our party’s hierarchy and stakeholders to a vital principle of statecraft: that democratic pursuits, by their very nature, naturally attract divergent interests, and these interests must always be deeply, inclusively, and delicately channeled. While consensus is an institutional tool for unity, we must continually strive to do better in rallying every competing interest together from the foundational stages.
Inclusivity is the oil that keeps the progressive machine running smoothly, and ensuring that every voice feels genuinely valued and integrated into the decision-making process is the surest way to safeguard our institutional harmony and guarantee an impenetrable front moving forward.
Having laid bare these reflections, and subject to wide range of counsel from respected traditional and political institutions, we have come to a difficult, yet undeniably pragmatic and statesmanlike conclusion to fully abide by the party’s decision and endorse Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, PhD, ahead of the primary election holding tomorrow.
This is a supreme sacrifice for progress. Senator Alli is an undeniably proven hand and a brilliant mind in the annals of our nation’s political and administrative terrain, who has shown a level of humility and demeanour truly worthy of a leader.
Having engaged closely with him over the past few days, I can honestly confirm that we share a uniform passion, an unyielding will, and a parallel desire to move Oyo State forward.
Therefore, I am explicitly instructing and rallying every single one of my supporters across the nooks and crannies of Oyo State to cast their votes overwhelmingly and absolutely for Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, PhD, at the primary tomorrow. We are merging our intellectual and grassroots capital with his, and we wish the Distinguished Senator nothing but the absolute best.
Consequentially, the AKK political structure remains fully intact, completely mobilised, and united in pursuing our long-term collective aspirations for our people.
For this immediate season, however, we are completely deploying our formidable human resources, structural might, and campaign assets to guarantee a resounding victory for Senator Sharafadeen Alli at the primary tomorrow, and ultimately, to ensure his triumphant election next year as the next Executive Governor of Oyo State.
I cannot adequately express the depth of my gratitude to my team and my global network of supporters for their unwavering trust, their sacrifices, and for allowing me the immense privilege to provide leadership.
Our journey toward A Realistic Tomorrow has not ended; it has simply taken a wiser, more strategic path for the redemption of our state. Thank you all, and may God bless our collective endeavour.
