The Councilor representing Ward 6 in Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Faira, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to environmental sanitation in Sabo community through his initiative, Operation Keep Sabo Clean.

The community-based environmental forum, which he founded, continues to grow in influence since its official launch by the former Oyo State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola.

During the latest sanitation exercise held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, Hon. Faira announced a remarkable development, the Department of Public Health, University of Ibadan, officially joined the forum’s activities.
According to him, the department, which regularly visits Sabo for research, has now aligned with the forum to contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment.

In his address, Hon. Faira expressed deep appreciation to the department for its civic engagement and collaboration.
“The Department of Public Health, University of Ibadan, has always been coming to Sabo community for academic research.
It’s a thing of joy that they have now decided to contribute their quota towards cleaning and sanitizing the environment,” he said.
Hon. Faira also lauded the achievements of Governor Seyi Makinde, specifically highlighting the recent reconstruction of the Sabo road.

He emphasized that such government efforts must not be undermined by residents’ indiscriminate dumping of refuse or blocking of drainage channels.
“Governor Seyi Makinde has done excellently well for us in Sabo.
That’s why we, as a community, have resolved to continue supporting his administration,” he said.
However, Hon. Faira raised a concern regarding the newly reconstructed road.

He appealed to the governor to direct the road contractors to install speed bumps to curb the rising incidents of road accidents caused by over-speeding motorists and cyclists.
The Ward 6 Councilor also extended his gratitude to members of the Operation Keep Sabo Clean forum for their tireless efforts and passion for ensuring a serene and safe environment.
He reaffirmed his dedication to offering quality representation for Ward 6 in the Ibadan North Local Government Legislative Council.
