The Federation of Ibadan Students’ Union (FIBSU), University of Ilorin Chapter, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor of Oyo State, Hon. Kazim Adeyinka Adeniyi, popularly known as Bibire.

The delegation, led by the Union’s President, Comrade Olatunde Abdulbasit, included the General Secretary, Adebisi Zuilah; President of the University of Ilorin chapter of the Union of Campus Journalists (UCJ), Adeleke Asmau’u; Sports Director, Abdulrahman Munirudeen; and other members of the union.

According to the union, the visit was aimed at appreciating Adeniyi for his leadership and his support for youth and student-related initiatives, particularly in the areas of education and student development in Oyo State.

Speaking during the visit, FIBSU President, Comrade Olatunde Abdulbasit, described Adeniyi as a public servant whose engagement with young people and students had been noteworthy.

Abdulbasit also commended the Deputy Chief of Staff for what he described as his commitment to good governance and accessibility to students.

A major highlight of the visit was the presentation of a Plaque of Honour to hon. Kazim Adeyinka Adeniyi Bibire by the FIBSU University of Ilorin Chapter leadership.

 

The union said the award was presented in recognition of his service and contributions to the development of Oyo State.

Responding, Hon. Kazim Adeyinka Adeniyi Bibire expressed appreciation to the union for the honour and commended its leadership for the visit.

He encouraged the student leaders to remain focused on their studies, maintain discipline and dedicate themselves to academic excellence, stressing the importance of education in preparing young people for future leadership responsibilities.

The visit ended with prayers and a group photograph involving the delegation and the Deputy Chief of Staff.
