The Chairman of the Oyo State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Kamoru Abiodun Aderibigbe, JP, has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, D.Sc., GSSRS, for what he described as a sustained commitment to the welfare and career advancement of workers in the state since the inception of his administration in May 2019.
Aderibigbe said the Governor’s worker-friendly disposition had been demonstrated through various initiatives aimed at improving the welfare, career progression and working conditions of civil and public servants across the state.
The Chairman gave the commendation in connection with the recent approval granted for an orientation programme organised by the Civil Service Commission for 654 officers who have been converted from various junior cadres to relevant senior cadres, as well as officers whose requests for inter-cadre transfers from Sub-Officer Cadres to Officer Cadres have been approved.
The orientation programme is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the Local Government Staff Training Centre.
All affected officers are expected to be seated at the venue before 9:00 a.m. for the commencement of the programme.
Aderibigbe further noted that the administration had consistently demonstrated its commitment to the welfare and professional development of Oyo State workers through the prompt payment of salaries and other emoluments, timely implementation of promotions and the recruitment of more than 2,000 personnel into various cadres across Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
He also highlighted the elevation of the terminal salary grade level of officers in the Officer Cadres to Salary Grade Level 17, describing it as another significant development in the career progression of civil and public servants in the state.
According to him, the appointment of scores of officers to strategic positions, including Permanent Secretaries, General Managers and Executive Secretaries within the Oyo State Civil/Public Service, further demonstrates the administration’s confidence in the capacity and professionalism of the state’s workforce.
The Civil Service Commission Chairman urged workers in the state to reciprocate the Governor’s efforts by remaining committed, dedicated and diligent in the discharge of their official responsibilities.
He called on civil and public servants to see the various welfare and career-development initiatives as an incentive to rededicate themselves to effective service delivery and the overall development of Oyo State.
Alh. Kamorudeen Abiodun Aderibigbe expressed appreciation to Governor Makinde for what he described as his sustained support for the workforce, adding that the administration’s initiatives had continued to provide opportunities for workers to advance in their careers.
He also prayed for continued success for the Governor and eternal reward for his commitment to programmes and policies aimed at improving the welfare of workers in Oyo State.
