In a remarkable display of unity and political maturity, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Olusola Adeleke has emerged as the consensus Chairmanship Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) for the forthcoming 2026 Local Government Elections.
His emergence followed a unanimous endorsement by the party’s leadership and stakeholders after extensive consultations aimed at strengthening the party and ensuring a united front ahead of the local government polls.

The decision was reached during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held on Sunday at Heritage Resort, Igboora where party leaders unanimously adopted Hon. Adeleke as the party’s standard-bearer in recognition of his exemplary leadership, outstanding administrative achievements and commitment to grassroots development during his first term in office.
The consensus decision highlighted the confidence reposed in Hon. Adeleke’s leadership and reflected the collective resolve of the party to consolidate on the developmental strides already recorded in Ibarapa Central Local Government.
Among the party leaders who endorsed the consensus arrangement were Chief Kolawole Olanrele, Chief Olaoye, Mr. Remi Ayoade, Chief Saubana Oladokun, Alhaji Rufai, Mr. Taiye Obey, Mr. Rashidi Babarinde, Dr. Adebayo Adepoju, Chief Ademola Eyinade Elejire, Hon. Fakorede Olusola (JP), Hon. Rasheed Okunlola, Hon. Saminu Rufai, Hon. Ademola Adekunle, Chief Ademola Obafemi Ojo, Hon. Gbade Akinlolu, Hon. Oduola Monsuru, Hon. Olusola Adeleke and Hon Okedigba among other respected party stakeholders.
Party stakeholders described Hon. Adeleke’s emergence as a reward for impactful leadership, noting that his administration has recorded notable achievements in infrastructure, community development, improved local governance and people-oriented programmes across Ibarapa Central.

Speaking after his emergence, Hon. Adeleke expressed profound appreciation to the leadership and members of the Allied Peoples Movement for the confidence reposed in him. He described the unanimous endorsement as a great honour and a call to greater service, pledging to sustain the momentum of development, strengthen inclusive governance, and continue delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Ibarapa Central Local Government.
With the successful consensus arrangement, the Allied Peoples Movement has presented a united front ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections, reinforcing the party’s determination to retain leadership in Ibarapa Central through continuity, unity, and people-centred governance.
