The Oyo South senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) and member representing Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency of Oyo state in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, has again expressed his commitment to promoting religious harmony and community development with donations totalling 18.5 million naira to Muslim and Christian organizations in Oyo state.
The interventions include a ₦10 million donation towards the development of the Orisunmibare/Akilapa central mosque, Bodija market, Ibadan, 3.5 million naira to the Ifedapo muslim community in Ido local government area for the purchase of land to build a mosque and 5 million naira to the Christ Power Evangelical Mission, a Christian faith based ministry led by Rev. P.F. Owa.

According to a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday by his Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, the donations reflect the federal lawmaker’s belief that religious institutions remain indispensable partners in fostering moral values, social stability and community development.
The statement explained that Olajide announced the 10 million naira donation shortly after observing the Jumat prayer at the Orisunmibare/Akilapa Central Mosque, where he commended the leadership of the mosque for its efforts towards expanding the worship centre to meet the growing needs of muslim faithful within the Bodija Market axis and adjoining communities.
Addressing the congregation, the lawmaker stressed that places of worship occupy a unique position in moulding responsible citizens and upholding the moral fabric of society.
He noted that beyond spiritual guidance, religious institutions continue to provide platforms for peaceful coexistence, conflict resolution, humanitarian support and community advancement.

Olajide called on muslim faithful to continue praying for peace, security and prosperity in Oyo state and Nigeria, expressing optimism that the nation would overcome its present socio-economic and security challenges through unity, responsible leadership and commitment to the common good.
In another development, the Oyo South senatorial hopeful donated ₦3.5 million to the Ifedapo Muslim Community in Ido Local Government Area to support the purchase of land for the construction of a central mosque.
He described the project as a worthy investment in the spiritual growth and future development of the community, assuring members that he would continue to support initiatives capable of strengthening religious harmony and improving the welfare of the people.
Also, in a demonstration of his commitment to religious inclusiveness, the federal lawmaker presented a 5 million naira donation to the Christ Power Evangelical Mission, led by Rev. P.F. Owa, to support the ministry’s evangelical and community development activities and welfare of its members.
Olajide said his support for both Islamic and Christian organizations are in line with his conviction that development must transcend religious, ethnic and political divides.
According to him, meaningful leadership is measured not by sectional interests but by the ability to serve humanity without discrimination.
“I have always believed that our diversity is one of our greatest strengths. Whether muslim or christian, every faith based organization contributes immensely to the moral and social development of our society.
Supporting these institutions is, ultimately, an investment in responsible citizenship and sustainable community development,” he stated.
The federal lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to continuing interventions that positively impact communities across Oyo South Senatorial District, noting that his representation has consistently prioritized education, healthcare, security, youth empowerment, digital inclusion, infrastructure and support for faith based organisations.
Leaders of the various mosques and church expressed profound appreciation for the donations, describing the interventions as timely and impactful.
They commended Olajide for demonstrating fairness and inclusiveness in extending support to both Muslim and Christian communities, while offering prayers for divine wisdom, protection and greater opportunities for him to continue serving humanity.
