The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, has intensified preparations for the 2027 general elections by embarking on a high-powered, strategic grassroots mobilization drive aimed at ensuring the victory of all candidates of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
As part of the initiative, the Executive chairman convened an extensive stakeholders’ meeting at his residence, bringing together party leaders, executives, political appointees, elected officials, and members from Ward 8 and Ward 3 of Akinyele Local Government.


















The meeting was attended by prominent leaders including Alhaji Suleiman Arowosaye, Alhaji Kunle Yusuf, Hon. Kazeem Egbeleke, Baba Taju Owe, Alhaji Oladimeji Jeleel, Mrs. Risikatu Olojede, Alhaji Hamzat, Mrs. Abosede Babatunde, former Local Government Secretary Hon. Amoo Oluyemi, as well as councillors, party executives, and political appointees led by the Akinyele PDP Chairman, Hon. Salaudeen Lateef Babatunde.




During their separate presentations, Ward 8 Chairman, Imam Rafiu Saheed, Ward 8 Woman Leader, Mrs. Bola Oyelami, and Ward 8 Youth Leader, Mr. Afolabi Hammed Ibrahim, gave comprehensive reports on the state of the party in the ward, outlining ongoing mobilization efforts, strategies for victory, and challenges confronting members.
Similar reports were presented by the Ward 3 Chairman, Mr. Alawode Kazeem, alongside the ward’s women and youth leaders.
The ward executives unanimously commended Hon. Akinleye for his outstanding leadership style, accessibility, and numerous developmental projects across Akinyele Local Government.





They described him as a visionary leader whose listening ear and people-oriented approach closely reflect the leadership model of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, while urging him not to relent in his efforts to further develop the local government.
Addressing the large gathering, Akinyele Local Government PDP Chairman, Hon. Salaudeen Lateef Babatunde, expressed appreciation to party members for their impressive turnout, describing it as a clear indication of unity, renewed commitment, and readiness for the political task ahead.
He commended members for setting aside personal differences in the collective interest of the party and emphasized that the ongoing aggressive PVC mobilization campaign remains the surest pathway to electoral success.
He urged all members to intensify grassroots campaigns, take the message of the APM to every community, and remain committed to securing victory for all party candidates in 2027.
He also lauded Hon. Akinwole Akinleye for consistently supporting party-building efforts and providing the leadership needed to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures.
In his response, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye thanked party leaders, stakeholders, and members for their overwhelming turnout and unwavering loyalty to the party.
He paid glowing tribute to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for establishing a governance model rooted in people-centered development and impactful leadership.
According to him, the numerous achievements recorded under Governor Makinde’s administration have made political mobilization easier for party faithful across the state.
The Executive chairman also addressed concerns raised by the various wards, offered practical solutions to identified challenges, and reassured members that his administration would continue to bring more dividends of democracy to the grassroots.
He stressed that the collective mission of the party is to ensure the victory of all APM candidates, including the party’s presidential candidate, Engr. Seyi Makinde; gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Abimbola Adekanmbi; Oyo Central Senatorial candidate, Hon. Ajadi Oguntoyinbo; Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency candidate, Engr. Toheeb Adegoke ADLAT; OYHA Akinyele Constituency I candidate, Hon. Abiola Olalekan Monsur; and OYHA Akinyele Constituency II candidate, Hon. Olalere Ajibola Solomon ERE.
Speaking on behalf of the leaders, the Overall Leader of Ward 8, Alhaji Suleiman Arowosaye, commended Hon. Akinwole Akinleye for his exceptional leadership, humility, and accessibility, describing him as a listening chairman whose commitment to the welfare of party members and the development of Akinyele remains unparalleled.
He urged public office holders to emulate the chairman’s leadership style and called on party members to remain focused, disciplined, and united ahead of the 2027 elections.
Political observers have described the meeting as timely, strategic, and result-oriented, noting that it provided a platform for addressing internal concerns, strengthening party cohesion, and charting a clear roadmap toward electoral victory.
Many believe the gathering has further energized the party’s grassroots machinery and significantly boosted the prospects of APM candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
