President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday swore in Mr. Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as the new Minister of Power.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the State House in Abuja, was witnessed by top government officials.








 

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the appointment followed the resignation of the former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu.




Tegbe was confirmed by the Senate on May 6, 2026, after being nominated by President Tinubu.

An indigene of Ibadan, Oyo State, Tegbe assumes office with more than three decades of experience in economic reforms, fiscal policy, institutional transformation, and stakeholder engagement.

He holds a First Class degree in Civil Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from Switzerland and a Master of Public Administration degree from Birmingham.
