The Oyo State Government has demolished a building allegedly used as a hideout by the kidnappers who abducted the sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons.

The government said the action underscores its unwavering commitment to combating crime and maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against criminal activities across the state.

The demolition, carried out on Monday by the Ministry of Lands and Housing in conjunction with security agencies, followed intelligence findings linking the property to the gang responsible for the abduction.

The victims, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were kidnapped on June 3 along the Elewura area of Ring Road, Ibadan, while she was taking the children to school.

They were later rescued in a coordinated operation by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, which resulted in the killing of two suspected kidnappers and the arrest of several others.

According to government officials, investigations conducted after the rescue revealed that the demolished building was one of the locations where the victims were allegedly held during their ordeal.
