A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State and Aspirant for the House of Assembly, Moses Adebayo Alao, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect.
Alao, who hails from Onilu Compound, Obaago, Igboho, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the Chairman of the PDP, Ward 01, Oorelope Local Government Area.

In the letter, the journalist turned politician stated that his resignation was in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 as amended.
He added that subsequent steps would be announced in due course, but that his loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde remains 100 per cent.

The resignation letter identified him as a member of Unit 002, Ward 1, Oorelope Local Government, Igboho, Oyo State.
While expressing appreciation to the PDP for the political opportunities and platform provided to him over the years,
Alao attributed his decision to what he described as attempts by some undemocratic elements to destabilise the party.
According to him, the activities of such individuals made it impossible for him to continue associating with the party or pursue his political aspirations through its platform.
“While appreciating the PDP for the platform it offered me over the years, it is trite to state that attempts by a few undemocratic elements to destabilise the great party made it impossible for me to continue to belong to or explore its platform to achieve my political goals,” the letter read in part.
