







Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), the 2027 Oyo State APC Gubernatorial Aspirant, has commended Nigerian youth for their creativity and innovation following the victory of Al’amin Muhammed Idris, CEO of Interface Africa, who won the £1.5 million NextGen Innovation Challenge held in Paddington, London.
Idris, representing Kaduna State, emerged the overall winner for his company’s pioneering efforts in providing affordable solar financing solutions for small businesses across Africa, an initiative that has empowered entrepreneurs and promoted access to clean energy in underserved communities.
Speaking after attending the grand finale, Dr. Kareem praised the resilience and ingenuity of Nigerian youths, describing the achievement as “a strong testament to the endless potential of Nigeria’s young minds when given the right platform and support.”
He further noted that the NextGen Innovation Challenge, championed under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, represents a vital step towards fostering youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation across the country.




The event, organized by the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) under the leadership of Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, featured 105 innovative projects across HealthTech, Agritech, FinTech, Clean Energy, and Artificial Intelligence.
During the event, Dr. Kareem met with the APC UK Chairman, party stakeholders,Barrister Fayemi, London Mayor of Barking and Dagenham, and other dignitaries, discussing the importance of innovation-driven governance and the need to integrate youth-led solutions into sustainable development strategies for Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
Dr. Kareem reiterated his belief that technology and innovation remain key to unlocking Oyo State’s full potential, assuring that his administration, if elected, would prioritize education, digital skills development, and clean energy initiatives for inclusive growth.
“This victory by Al’amin Muhammed Idris is not just a personal success but a national inspiration.
It reminds us that Nigeria’s future lies in empowering our youths to innovate, create, and lead with purpose,” Dr. Kareem stated.
The event concluded with renewed calls for collaboration among government, private sector, and diaspora communities to strengthen Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem and support grassroots innovators.
