

In the wake of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s strategic consensus agreement in Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Matthew Alani Oyeniyi, a former councilor from Ward 12 and one of the aspirants for the party’s ticket, has congratulated Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle DON on his emergence as the consensus candidate for the upcoming bye-election into the Federal House of Representatives.
Hon. Oyeniyi praised the spirit that led to the peaceful resolution and adoption of a single candidate, emphasizing the uncommon leadership of the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, in steering the process with fairness and wisdom.
He described Governor Makinde’s intervention as a display of political unity, and commitment to the growth of the party, which has further cemented the confidence of party members in the leadership of the governor.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle DON on his emergence as our consensus candidate.
This development is a product of unity, inclusiveness, and the remarkable leadership style of Governor Seyi Makinde.
I am proud to stand with this decision and pledge my total support to Hon. DON’s candidacy,” Oyeniyi stated.
He also urged party faithful and supporters across Ibadan North to rally behind the consensus candidate to ensure a resounding victory for the PDP in the forthcoming bye-election.
The consensus decision was reached during a pivotal meeting with Governor Makinde and seven aspirants, including Hon. Oyeniyi, Hon. Kazim Bibire, Hon. Kabiru Salami De-Bomba, Hon. Waheed Biro, Hon. Lanre Sarumi, Hon. Kamorudeen Oladimeji, and Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami.
All aspirants pledged to support Hon. DON in the interest of party unity.
