The Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, representing the good people of Atiba State Constituency, Hon. Gbenga Joseph Oyekola, has congratulated Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade on his ascension to the Alaafin stool, expressing hopes that his reign will usher in peace and prosperity for the Oyo Kingdom.
In a congratulatory message released to the press, the two-time lawmaker described the selection and appointment of Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade as a well-deserved honor, guided by thorough consultation and divination.
Hon. Oyekola noted that the people of the Oyo Empire eagerly anticipate the visionary leadership of Oba Owoade, expressing confidence that his reign will foster prosperity, peace, unity, and progress.
He added that the new monarch will solidify Oyo’s reputation as a cultural, traditional, and historical beacon in both the state and the nation at large. Stating that his primary assignment is to unify everyone in respective of gender and affinity.
The Chief Whip of the 10th Assembly commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde, FNSE, DSc, GSSRS, for his thoughtful and divinely inspired decision in approving the appointment.
He acknowledged the governor’s deep understanding of the kingdom’s customs and traditions.
“We are deeply appreciative of your dedication and thoughtful efforts.
May God continue to bless you with wisdom and expand your influence beyond your greatest expectations,” he prayed.
Oyekola also celebrated the historic nature of Oba Owoade’s ascension, stating:
