In a groundbreaking move, the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development has constituted a 12-man committee to oversee the acquisition of digital skills by 3,000 youths in the state. This initiative aims to empower young individuals with in-demand skills, promoting youth development and economic growth.

Ayoade Olusegun, a renowned expert in digital technology, has been appointed as the chairman of the committee. Olusegun brings a wealth of experience in digital skill training and has successfully implemented similar programs in the past.

Similarly, his co-chairman, Hon. Ogunsina Micheal, the Oyo State People’s Democratic Party Youth leader and acting Publicity Secretary of the party, a versatile youth ambassador, a staunch advocate for Nigerian youth empowerment and a compelling voice dedicated to ensuring that youth equipped with the requisite wisdom, knowledge, and insight into contemporary realities are actively involved in governance and leadership.

The committee’s primary objective is to provide training in various digital skills, including Web development, Digital marketing, Amazon Kindle Publishing, and leveraging artificial Intelligence. This training will be conducted in partnership with leading technology companies and organizations, ensuring that participants receive industry-relevant skills.

The Oyo State Government has expressed its support for this initiative, recognizing the importance of digital skills in today’s economy. The government has pledged to provide resources and infrastructure to support the training program, ensuring its success.

This initiative is expected to have a significant impact on the state’s economy, as it will provide young individuals with the skills needed to secure high-paying jobs or start their businesses. The Oyo Youth Agency’s commitment to digital skill acquisition demonstrates its dedication to empowering youths and driving economic growth in the state.

The training program is scheduled to commence soon, and interested youths are encouraged to apply. The Oyo Youth Agency will provide regular updates on the program’s progress and application procedures.
