Dear Esteemed Constituents,

I am delighted to share the comprehensive outcomes of our recent engagement at the Fashola Agribusiness Hub Tour and Town Hall Meeting, hosted by Hon. Olorunpoto Rahaman, Oyo East/West, Oyo State House of Assembly.

The event aimed at fostering collaboration, economic growth, and addressing security concerns, and witnessed the enthusiastic participation of key stakeholders.

The gathering included esteemed figures such as the Oyo West Local Government Chairman and Vice Chairman, the Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola who represents Atiba State Constituency, the Babayaji of Oyo land, respected community and religious leaders, the Iyalaje of Oyo state, Iyaloja of Oyo land, representatives from Oyo Metropolitan and Oyo Global Forum, leaders from major political parties, concerned stakeholders, and the entire Fashola Community members.

Special recognition goes to Prince Ajibola Afonja, the former Chairman of First Bank and all elders for their commendation of Hon. Olorunpoto’s pioneering initiatives reflecting his unwavering love for the community and constituents.

Key Highlights:

  1. Government’s Economic Boost: The tour showcased the State Government’s commitment to economic growth through agribusiness initiatives. Notably, the Director General, Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency, OYSADA, Dr. Debo Akande ably represented by the Mr. Adeniyi emphasized ongoing efforts to transform the Fashola industrial hub into a thriving business center, housing ten operational industries while more are still coming. Governor Seyi Makinde led the provision of well-equipped accommodation facilities for investors, showcasing a commitment to job creation for both Fashola Community members, our constituency and Oyo state.
  2. ⁠⁠Investment Opportunities: The meeting provided a valuable platform to identify potential investment opportunities within the agribusiness hub. All community members are encouraged to contribute ideas, which can be submitted to OYSADA office within the community for implementation and government intervention.

This inclusive approach ensures economic development, job creation, and sustainable growth.

  1. Community-Investor Coexistence: Acknowledging security concerns, discussions focused on the imperative of peaceful coexistence. Chief Mukaila Afonja, Baba Iyaji of Oyo land, called for the immediate establishment of a committee to address the differences between the community and security personnel. He pledged the unwavering commitment of the traditional chiefs in Oyo to collaborate with the Government and the members of Fashola community.

This collaborative effort aims to ensure harmony, understanding, and a secure environment that benefits both investors and the community at large. The Chairman of Oyo West Local Government, Hon. Salami Olukitibi urged exemplary citizenship, emphasizing the importance of creating a secure atmosphere for investors. The collective commitment to being security-conscious was underscored to foster a welcoming environment for all.

As your representative in the Oyo State House of Assembly, I am deeply committed to transparent communication and fostering development within our constituency.
