The Director-General of the Royal Council Chairmanship candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Oyeleke Gabriel Olusegun, has decided to suspend the ongoing familiarization tour originally set for today at 5 pm in Ward 03, Atiba local government.
Initiated on November 26, 2023, the familiarization tour aimed to unify the party for a strong performance in the upcoming local government elections.
In a statement released on Monday and provided to Heritage Echo News, Hon. Oyeleke Gabriel Olusegun, Director-General of the Campaign, announced the postponement of the anticipated conclusion of the ward-to-ward familiarization tour.
The statement reads:
“Dear Good people of the Royal Council,
We wish to inform our stakeholders, leaders, and PDP party faithful in Atiba local government that the final stage of the ward-to-ward familiarization tour for Chairmanship candidate Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, Vice Badmus Olaide Ismail, and all Councilorship candidates has been postponed until further notice.
As the campaign DG, the safety of residents in Atiba local government is the top priority for the Chairmanship candidate. The people of the Royal Council sought a breath of fresh air, and the Restoration agenda is committed to providing it.
To our loyal supporters and party members, the umbrella is large enough for everyone, irrespective of gender and political affiliation. Ensuring your safety remains our primary concern.
We regret any inconvenience caused by this postponement and assure you that we will conduct the familiarization tour at a more suitable time.
In conclusion, we guarantee a new era of the Restoration agenda, aimed at transforming the Royal Council.
