The Lawmaker representing Akinyele State Constituency 1 in the Oyo state House of Assembly, Hon. Olalekan Monsur Abiola today gave financial support to residents of Elebu Moniya community in his constituency for the purchase of a new transformer to replace the old one which got damaged over a year ago.

The residents of the said community who had hitherto been in darkness as a result of their old transformer that got damaged had approached the Lawmaker to solicit his support for the replacement of the said transformer.

Speaking at the donation of the said money to the community, Hon. Abiola who was represented by his Personal Assistant, Adeniji Ibrahim said he was touched by the plight of the community because of the fact that they have been in darkness for over a year, a situation which according to him, has brought untold hardship to them in many aspects of life.

He said as a lawmaker that represents the constituency, he is always ready to do anything in his capacity to make life meaningful for his constituents whenever the need arises.

Hon. Abiola who used the opportunity to solicit support for the PDP chairmanship candidate in the upcoming local government election, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye and other councillorship candidates, stressed that this will make the people to have access to more dividends of democracy at the grassroot level.

In their responses, the Elebu Residents Association expressed their utmost gratitude to Hon. Abiola and described his gesture as unprecedented in the history of lawmakers that have been representing the constituency.

According to the spokesperson of the residents, Hon. Olalekan Monsur Abiola has proven himself as our worthy representative for coming to our aids with this humongous financial support which has never happened like this before. We have had representatives before but none of them has been so magnanimous like Hon. Abiola.”

The residents also pledged their support for all the PDP candidates in the forthcoming LG elections.
