Oyo Lawmaker representing Ibadan North Constituency1, Hon Dr Olufunke Comforter Adeniyi Olajide has restated her commitment to ensure residents of Ibadan North LG continue enjoying the dividends of democracy and bring government closer to her constituency.
This she stated just as, dignitaries and a mammoth crowd in a thrilling atmosphere Wednesday, graced the commissioning of the Ibadan North Constituency1 Office in Yemetu Ibadan a project commissioned under her watch as Oyo Assembly lawmaker representing the constituency.
The official commissioning of the Constituency 1 office which was graced by dignitaries, government office holders, and political juggernauts can be described as top-notch and one of the best memorable events in the history of Ibadan North Constituency.
This special event coupled with the presentation of awards and cash according to Comforter was to mark her 100 days in office and to fulfill parts of her promises during the campaign and after she emerged as the lawmaker representing Ibadan North Constituency1.
In a statement made available to journalists Wednesday, speaking on the special event, Hon Bisi Oluranti fondly called ‘Booms’ Oyo Assembly member representing Ogbomosho North described the event as superb, commending the project and empowerment done by Hon Comforter as timely and a plus for the growth and development of the Constituency. Booms also applauded Hon Comforter for making the women proud in the state. While Commending Comforter, Hon Oluranti explained that the office project commissioned and the empowerment made is in fulfillment of parts of campaign promises made by Comforter. Hon Oluranti However appreciated Governor Makinde for making human inclusion in Oyo State Politics a reality, stressing that Makinde has been friendly to women in the state and deserves the best support.
While speaking to journalists over the event, Comforter stated that to whom much is given much is expected. Comforter explained and and reiterated that the commissioning, empowerment of cash, and awards given to people are to mark her 100-day in office and to appreciate the efforts of her constituency and those who contributed to her emergent during the campaign and after office assumption.
Comforter expressed her sincere joy and fulfillment in making smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries of the event, adding that what God has used her to do today is worth the lives of people not about the millions of naira spent on the project.
Hon Comforter beyond rhetoric who could not thank God enough for the success of the event, in her speech appreciated Almighty for making the event a reality. She however eulogized dignitaries, government office holders, and political juggernauts in the state, particularly in Ibadan North Local Government for beautifying the occasion.
Comforter in the speech restated her commitment to the betterment of people in Constituency 1 adding that the newly commissioned office will not only be an access point for everyone to connect to her as their leader but will be a center to empower people.
Comforter categorically appreciated Governor Makinde for making women important in Oyo state politics and appreciated the governor’s wife for being a mother in all. Further to her appreciation, she thanked the deputy governor for his presence and words of encouragement during the event. She appreciated ex-first lady of Oyo State, Alh Mutiat Ladoja, Elder Ajuwon, Prince Seun Adelore, Ibadan North Chairman, Hon Waheed Akanbi’Biro’, Chief Mrs. Modinat Abosede, Hon Sumonu, Alhaja Ibitayo and others others Political Juggernauts, government appointees within and out Ibadan North who made the event a success.
Among beneficiaries of the event include one special person identified as Ibrahim Serifat given a wheelchair through the Yusuf Olatunji Foundation. She was also donated a huge amount by Hon Comforter and other dignitaries in attendance to sponsor her education.
Those who received awards and appointments include, Oriyomi Hamzat, Olutunu Dee coordinators in all the wards under Constituency 1, Apex team, among others.
The dignitaries who graced the occasion while others duly represented include the Deputy Governor of Oyo State and his wife, Barr Bayo Lawal and Alhaja Ajibola Bayo Lawal,Mama Ladoja Hon Julian Uwachukwu, Baba Ashipa, G-18, Debo Ogundoyin, Hon Oluranti, Hon. Lanre Sarumi, former Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Local Government and Chieftaincy matters, Hon Adeniyi Adeyinka Kazim (Bibiire), Royal Umbrella amongst others.
Meanwhile, the special event coincidentally coincided with the birthday of one of her intimate advisors/partners, Dr Kunle Awotiku.
Speaking and appreciating the contribution of Dr. Kunle, the dignitaries and others in attendance showered birthday prayers on him. Hon Comforter categorically described Kunle Awotiku as a brave man who has been very committed. Hon Comforter further prayed and wished him prosperous years.
