Oyo state Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Wasilat Adegoke, was in attendance at the female’s fireside chat convened by Ms. Titilope Gbadamosi, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youth Initiative.

The event, which was predominantly attended by young girls and women, provided a platform for rubbing minds and chitchat on various issues, including the representation of women in politics. The attendees, female who made up over 90 percent of the room, showed keen interest in politics and expressed their readiness to effect change and increase the number of women in power.

The Honourable Commissioner’s presence at the event underscored her commitment to empowering young women and girls in the state. Her interaction with the attendees demonstrated her willingness to listen to their concerns and ideas, and to provide guidance and support where necessary.

Addressing the gathering of young female ,Honourable Adegoke emphasized the importance of self-empowerment, resilience, and determination in achieving success. She encouraged the young female participants to break free from societal limitations and push beyond their comfort zones to reach their full potential.

“You are the future leaders, innovators, and change-makers,” Honourable Adegoke said. “Do not let anyone define your path or dictate your destiny. You have the power to create the life you desire and make a meaningful impact in your community.”

The women’s fireside chat was an opportunity for young female folks to share their experiences, challenges, and aspirations, and to learn from each other’s perspectives. It also served as a call to action, encouraging women to take an active role in politics and to strive for leadership positions.

With the Honourable Commissioner’s support and encouragement, the young women in attendance left the event feeling inspired and motivated to make a positive impact in their communities and in the political sphere.
