Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo has congratulated Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on his investiture as the Grand Patron of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ).

The congratulatory message contained in a statement signed on behalf of the Hon. Adedeji Olajide by Tolu Mustapha, his Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs, lauded the Governor’s leadership and developmental strides in the state.

According to the statement, Olajide Odidiomo praised the Governor’s commitment to press freedom, his administration’s support for the media and commended the Governor’s giant strides in the massive development of Oyo State, particularly the commissioning of the 33km road network across Ibadan metropolis, “The NUJ Grand patron investiture award bestowed on Governor Seyi Makinde is a testament to the Seyi Makinde administration’s commitment to press freedom, freedom of speech, the development of the media industry in Oyo State and also in recognition of his exemplary leadership and dedication to the welfare of the people of the state, he said.

Speaking at the, commissioning of the 33km road network across Ibadan metropolis, Olajide said, the rehabilitation of those major roads serve as the highlight of Governor Makinde’s administration’s achievement aimed at alleviating transportation challenges in the state.

The roads according to him, which were built to the highest standards, with modern drainage systems and streetlights is a pointer to the Governor’s commitment to infrastructure development and the betterment of the lives of the people of Oyo State.

Meanwhile, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide (Odidiomo) today paid his last respect to his deceased colleague, Hon. Olaide Akinremi Jagaban, as he was buried in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Odidiomo who led the National Assembly delegation to the burial, which was attended by colleagues, family, and friends described Jagaban as a dedicated and hardworking lawmaker who showed great commitment to the nation’s progress.

Speaking on behalf of the Speaker of the House Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abass, Olajide Odidiomo described Akinremi Jagaban as a strong advocate for the welfare of his constituents who provided empowerment programmes, scholarships and infrastructure development to his constituents across party affiliation.

Odidiomo coordinated activities at the airport while receiving the corpse of the late lawmaker at the airport and at the burial site in Ologuneru area of Ibadan, where the deceased lawmaker was laid to rest, described Akinremi’s demise as a great loss to the National Assembly and the people of Oyo State and revealed that the leadership of the National Assembly mandated a befitting burial for the deceased federal lawmaker in acknowledgment of his outing service and contributions towards the development of the country during his lifetime.
