From her earliest days, her artistic talent was evident, nurtured by the encouragement of her father. Graduating with honors in Fine Art from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria, Ayo’Lamide’s academic foundation laid the groundwork for her artistic exploration and expression.

Rooted in her environmental beliefs and deep cultural ties to the Black race, Ayo’Lamide’s figurative expressions serve as mirrors to the soul, reflecting the nuanced experiences of Black women with striking clarity and depth.

Through her art, she explores themes of identity, empowerment, and societal norms, challenging viewers to confront uncomfortable truths and celebrate the strength and resilience of Black women.

Utilizing a masterful blend of naturalistic elements and subtle exaggeration, Ayo’Lamide brings her canvases to life, infusing each piece with layers of meaning and emotion.

Her choice of mediums, predominantly oil and acrylic paint, offers the versatility and depth necessary to breathe life into her artistic visions.

Despite facing challenges along the way, including a spine injury during her National Youth Service Programme, Ayo’Lamide’s passion for art has remained unwavering.

In 2016, Ayo’Lamide’s talent caught the attention of the Oyo State Civil Service, where she was employed as a Cultural Officer II in the Visual Arts Department.

Her brilliant artistic work led to commissions for art pieces presented to Oyo State Executive Council Members, solidifying her reputation as a talented artist with a powerful message.

Beyond her artistic pursuits, Ayo’Lamide is deeply committed to passing on her knowledge and skills to others. She is known for her willingness to mentor aspiring artists, embodying the spirit of creativity and community.

Olamide Ayomipo Adesola, also known as Ayo’Lamide, discovered her artistic talent at a young age, nurtured by her father’s encouragement. A graduate of Fine Art from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria, her journey has been marked by resilience and dedication.

Her artistic journey faced a setback in 2014 when she experienced an accident during her National Youth Service Programme, which affected her spine. However, undeterred by adversity, she regained her strength in 2015 and returned to her passion for art.

Throughout her career, Ayo’Lamide has participated in numerous exhibitions and national and local arts festivals, contributing to ongoing dialogues surrounding identity, gender, and social justice.
