The revered 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, has transitioned.
According to Thepopulistnews, the Olubadan breathed his last at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, in the Oyo State capital.
Hailing from the Ali-Iwo compound in present-day Ibadan North East local government area, Balogun’s demise occurred shortly after his admission to the health facility.
Prior to assuming the throne in 2022, Balogun had a distinguished career as an academic and politician. He served as a lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria and represented Oyo Central Senatorial District from 1999 to 2003.
With a Doctor of Philosophy degree to his credit, Balogun ascended to the position of Olubadan on March 11, 2022, succeeding Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, who passed away on January 2, 2022.
