… OBF Mobilises Members, Rallies Support for 2027 Elections
The Omituntun Benedict Forum (OBF), a grassroots socio-political and community-based organisation founded by Oloye Benedict Akika JP, has intensified mobilisation for the 2027 general elections with the launch and distribution of campaign materials for the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM).
The development took place at the forum’s general meeting held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Omituntun House, Idi-Ape, Akobo, Ibadan, where Akika, the Agbaakin of Olorunda-Abaa, returned in full force to lead renewed political engagements.
Members, groups and stakeholders of OBF from different parts of Oyo State attended the meeting, expressing their readiness to strengthen the organisation’s grassroots activities and promote the party ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The forum reaffirmed commitment to the bid of Governor Seyi Makinde for President of Nigeria, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi for Governor of Oyo State, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi for Oyo Central Senatorial District, and Engr. Toheeb Adegoke for Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, among other APM candidates across the state.
Members were urged to intensify community-level mobilisation and promote awareness of the party and its candidates across their respective wards and local government areas.
Addressing the gathering, AgbaAkin Olorunda-Abaa urged members to remain focused, steadfast and committed to the collective agenda, cautioning against doubt and distractions as political activities gather momentum.
He welcomed members from diverse ethnic backgrounds, including Hausa, Igede and Igbo communities, among others, noting their participation as a demonstration of the forum’s inclusiveness and unity.
Stakeholders also expressed delight at the growing presence of OBF in Oyo State and beyond, commending its grassroots structure and reaffirming their readiness to work towards the success of APM candidates in the 2027 elections.
A major highlight of the meeting was the launch and distribution of campaign materials, including posters, caps, shirts, aprons and stickers, to members for grassroots publicity and mobilisation.
The exercise is expected to support the forum’s outreach across communities as it intensifies activities. OBF reiterated commitment to sustained engagement, unity and the promotion of APM candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
