The political atmosphere in Ido Local Government was charged with enthusiasm and unity as prominent leaders and stakeholders of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) converged to affirm and confirm the Chairmanship candidature of Barr. Olayemi Ajibola Oluwasina for the forthcoming local government election.

The gathering, which took place at the Ido Local Government Council Hall, brought together the “who’s who” of the party across the 10 wards of the local government, demonstrating a strong show of support and confidence in the candidature of Barr. Oluwasina.

Leading the array of party leaders and stakeholders at the event was the Overall Leader, Mallam Muili Yusuf, alongside Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba, Alfa Asimiyu Lawal Laani, Alhaji Mukaila Diekola Abule, Mr. Mathew Akano, Alhaji Kamorudeen Aderibigbe, Baba Fasola Atere and Alhaji Musibau Emiola.

Others were Mr. Alaba Adelabu, Alfa Owolabi Oletente, Baba Atanda Jimoh Obe, Baba Onifade and Alhaji Tajudeen Atilola, among several other influential leaders and grassroots mobilisers within the party.

Also in attendance were members of the APM Local Executive Council, Ward Chairmen, Ward Vice Chairmen, Ward Secretaries, Ward Women Leaders, Ward Youth Leaders and political arrowheads from Wards 1 to 10, reflecting what appeared to be a broad-based consensus across the party structure in Ido Local Government.

In response to the overwhelming affirmation, Barr. Olayemi Ajibola Oluwasina expressed profound appreciation to the leaders and stakeholders of the party for the confidence and trust reposed in him.

 

He particularly thanked the leaders for considering him worthy of the responsibility, assuring them that their collective decision and support would serve as a source of motivation for him to remain committed to the ideals of good leadership and grassroots development.

Barr. Oluwasina also expressed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, describing the governor as a good role model whose leadership style has continued to inspire him and other candidates of the Allied Peoples Movement across the state.

According to him, Governor Makinde’s commitment to purposeful leadership and people-oriented governance remains a worthy example for political office holders and aspiring leaders to emulate.

The Chairmanship candidate, however, pledged never to betray the confidence reposed in him by the party leaders and the people of Ido Local Government.

He promised that if elected, his administration would be anchored on quality leadership, respect for party leaders and stakeholders, accountability and the delivery of meaningful dividends of democracy to every part of Ido Local Government.

Barr. Oluwasina further assured the leaders that he would operate an inclusive administration that recognises the contributions of party leaders, grassroots mobilisers, women, youths and other stakeholders, stressing that development can only be sustained when leadership carries everyone along.

The convergence and affirmation at the Ido Council Hall is being seen as a significant demonstration of unity and growing confidence within the APM, as leaders and stakeholders across the 10 wards appear determined to rally behind Barr. Olayemi Ajibola Oluwasina ahead of the forthcoming local government election.
