The Vice Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Political Head/Administrator of Ajorosun LCDA, Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo, has emerged as the Egbeda Local Government chairmanship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) for the forthcoming 2026 Local Government Election.

Oladebo emerged as the party’s consensus candidate following consultations among leaders and stakeholders of the Allied Peoples Movement in Egbeda Local Government, who unanimously endorsed him to fly the party’s flag in the election.

Party leaders described his emergence as a reflection of his commitment to public service, loyalty to the party, and impressive contributions to governance in his current capacities as Vice Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Political Head of Ajorosun LCDA.

They expressed confidence in his ability to provide purposeful leadership, deepen grassroots development, and build on the achievements already recorded within the local government.

According to the stakeholders, Hon. Oladebo has distinguished himself through humility, accessibility, administrative competence, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people, qualities they said make him the right candidate to lead Egbeda Local Government.

Speaking shortly after his emergence, Hon. Oladebo expressed heartfelt appreciation to the leadership and members of the Allied Peoples Movement for the confidence reposed in him.

He described the consensus endorsement as a privilege and a call to greater service, assuring party faithful and residents that he would justify the trust placed in him through responsible, transparent, and people-oriented leadership.

“I sincerely appreciate the leadership and members of our great party, the Allied Peoples Movement, for this honour. I do not take this confidence for granted, and I remain committed to serving our people with dedication, fairness, and integrity.

“Together, we will continue to promote unity, accelerate development, and ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every community across Egbeda Local Government,” he said.

Oladebo further pledged to run an inclusive administration that would prioritize infrastructure development, youth and women empowerment, quality service delivery, improved welfare for residents and sustain all the achievements recorded by the incumbent Council chairman, hon. Sikiru Sanda.

His emergence has been warmly received by party members and supporters across Egbeda Local Government, who described his candidacy as a well-deserved recognition of his track record in public service and expressed optimism that the APM would record a resounding victory in the forthcoming local government election.
