The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, on Friday received a delegation of former councilors of the local government at his office at the Local Government Secretariat, Moniya, Ibadan, in a strategic meeting that further strengthened the growing political unity within the Local Government.

The delegation, made up of former councilors who served during the administration of the immediate past Chairman, Late Hon. Taoreed Adedigba Jimoh, was led by Hon. Adeleke Olufemi Micheal.
Their visit was aimed at reaffirming their commitment to the progress of Akinyele Local Government and declaring their unwavering support for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), its candidates, and the administration of Hon. Akinwole Akinleye.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hon. Adeleke Olufemi Micheal stated that the former councilors were united in their resolve to stand firmly behind the APM and contribute meaningfully to its success in the forthcoming general elections.

He explained that their decision was inspired by the impressive leadership style, developmental strides, and people oriented governance being demonstrated by Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, noting that the Executive chairman’s commitment to inclusiveness and grassroots development has continued to earn the admiration and confidence of stakeholders across the local government.
In his response, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye warmly welcomed the former councilors and expressed profound appreciation for their visit and their public declaration of support.
He assured them that his administration would continue to operate an open door policy where every stakeholder has a sense of belonging, emphasizing that his leadership philosophy remains one of inclusiveness, consultation, and collective progress.
The Executive chairman noted that he has remained committed to emulating the exemplary leadership style of his principal, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, whose administration has consistently prioritized unity, good governance, and sustainable development.
The Executive Chairman further stressed that the current political season demands unity of purpose among all progressives, irrespective of previous political affiliations. He called on party leaders, members, supporters, and all well-meaning residents of Akinyele Local Government to work together with a common objective of ensuring a resounding victory for all APM candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
He expressed confidence that with the overwhelming support of the people and the spirit of togetherness demonstrated by stakeholders such as the former councilors, APM is well-positioned to record remarkable electoral success across Akinyele Local Government, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
