Executive Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Security Coordination, Hon. Kabiru Salami, popularly known as “De-Bomba,” has congratulated Abimbola Adekanmbi following his emergence as the preferred successor to Governor Seyi Makinde ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
In a statement made available to newsmen, De-Bomba described Adekanmbi as a “round peg in a round hole,” stressing that Governor Makinde’s choice once again reflects his foresight, wisdom, and deep commitment to the continued growth and development of Oyo State.
According to him, Adekanmbi possesses the administrative experience, intellectual capacity, and leadership qualities needed to sustain the remarkable achievements of the Makinde-led administration.
He noted that the former Commissioner for Finance has over the years distinguished himself as a competent technocrat and a visionary personality whose understanding of governance and public service would greatly benefit the people of Oyo State.
“I have absolute trust in the leadership and judgment of our principal, Governor Seyi Makinde.
His choice of Abimbola Adekanmbi clearly shows that he remains focused on the future of Oyo State and the continuity of purposeful governance,” De-Bomba stated.
The governor’s aide further used the opportunity to reaffirm his unwavering and unalloyed loyalty to Governor Makinde, describing the governor as a transformational leader whose political direction has continued to inspire many loyal party faithful across the state.
“I want to assure His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, of my continuous loyalty, dedication, and support for his vision and leadership.
I remain fully committed to the ideals and progressive agenda of this administration,” he added.
De-Bomba also wished Adekanmbi a peaceful, fruitful, and successful electioneering process, praying that God grants him wisdom, strength, and victory in the forthcoming governorship election.
He urged the stakeholders to rally behind Adekanmbi in the interest of continuity, stability, and sustainable development in Oyo State.
The congratulatory message has further added to the growing endorsements and political support trailing Adekanmbi’s emergence within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the broader political landscape in the state.
