In the annals of Oyo State’s political history, certain moments stand out as defining turning points, moments when leadership transcends rhetoric and becomes a vehicle for transformation.
The emergence of Governor Seyi Makinde in 2019 was one of such moments.
It marked not just a change in government, but the birth of a new governance philosophy anchored on people-first policies, accountability, and sustainable development.
When Governor Makinde assumed office, Oyo State stood at a critical juncture, yearning for direction, revitalization, and purposeful leadership. Today, the story has changed.

The narrative has shifted from uncertainty to confidence, from stagnation to strategic growth, and from promises to tangible results.
Through the visionary Omituntun agenda, the Makinde administration has redefined governance across key sectors: education, healthcare, infrastructure, economy, and workers’ welfare.
These are not abstract claims; they are measurable realities.
Under his leadership, Oyo State’s internally generated revenue witnessed significant growth, nearly doubling within a few years, a clear indication of economic expansion and fiscal discipline.
In the health sector, the revitalization of over 270 Primary Healthcare Centres across the state has brought quality healthcare closer to the grassroots, saving lives and restoring confidence in public health institutions.
Education has equally received unprecedented attention, with deliberate policies aimed at reducing the burden on families, improving access, and strengthening institutional capacity.
From the cancellation of certain levies to strategic investments in infrastructure and personnel, the future of Oyo’s children is being secured.
Infrastructure development has not been left behind.
Roads that connect economic zones, boost commerce, and ease mobility have been constructed and rehabilitated across the state, laying the foundation for long-term prosperity and regional competitiveness.
Perhaps most commendable is the administration’s commitment to workers and pensioners ensuring prompt salary payments, improved welfare packages, and a minimum wage structure that stands among the most competitive in Nigeria.
These achievements are not accidental; they are the product of intentional leadership, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of governance as a tool for societal transformation.
As Omituntun 2.0 progresses, one thing has become abundantly clear: the people of Oyo State believe in Governor Seyi Makinde. They trust his vision, they feel the impact of his policies, and they are invested in the continuity of his legacy.
This growing confidence naturally births the aspiration for Omituntun 3.0, a forward-looking agenda aimed at consolidating gains, deepening reforms, and ensuring that the progress recorded is not only sustained but accelerated.
Omituntun 3.0 is more than a political slogan; it is a collective resolve. It is a declaration that the journey of transformation must not be truncated.
It is a commitment by the people to entrust the baton of leadership to individuals who will not dismantle the structures already built, but will strengthen and expand them.
Leadership, after all, is a relay race, not a sprint. Governor Makinde has run his race with vision, courage, and integrity.
The next phase must be entrusted to hands that understand the race, respect the track, and are determined to finish strong.
As a committed stakeholder in the future of our dear state, I, Hon. Tosin Alabi, proudly align myself with the ideals of Omituntun 3.0.
I reaffirm my unwavering loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde and his transformational leadership.
More importantly, I pledge my readiness to contribute meaningfully to the sustenance and advancement of this noble agenda.
The future of Oyo State is not a gamble, it is a carefully built pathway.
And with Omituntun 3.0, that future is not only secure; it is promising, progressive, and unstoppable.
Oyo State has risen.
Oyo State is rising.
And with Omituntun 3.0, Oyo State will soar even higher.
