








The All Progressives Congress leading Aspirants for the Egbeda State Constituency seat in the Oyo State House of Assembly, in the 2027 general elections, Farmer Omolara Kafilat Busari Svensson, has officially declared her intention to contest in the elections.


Making the declaration today, during the first general meeting of the party, after the last state Congress, Farmer Omolara Kafilat Busari Svensson, said her aspiration was born out of a renewed vision for Egbeda local governments, focusing on developmental programmes that will positively impact people of the constituency.


Widely known for her agricultural background, grassroots engagement, and sensitization of youth and women in politics, the farmer turned politician promised to complement the good work she has been doing, by facilitating quality education for children, health care services for the constituents, youth and women empowerment, if given the needed support to emerge the flag bearer of the party.

“We are here today for my official declaration to contest for Oyo State House of Assembly representing Egbeda state Constituency come 2027, under the umbrella of our great party, APC.

I envisioned an Egbeda that is all inclusive, first of all, not leaving anyone behind.

An Egbeda that is Agriculturally enriched and developed, an Egbeda that is educationally developed and Egbeda that has the right health facilities and infrastructure for our citizens” she stated.


She also pledged to use her federal and international networks to bring meaningful development to the Constituency, stressing that her own style of politics is not a do or die affair, as she assured party members of her readiness to accept the outcome of the primaries, and support whoever, eventually emerged as the party’s candidate.

Earlier in his address, APC chairman, Egbeda local government, Olawale Olaleye, urged Farmer Omolara not to relent in her efforts and engage in wider consultations, in order to achieve her aspiration.
Olaleye also assured all the aspirants of level playing ground in a transparent selection process, irrespective of the system adopted, appreciating the consensus process that returned him as the party chairman for another term in office, with high hope of victory in the coming general elections.

While encouraging other women to come out and aspire for more political offices, the party women Leader in the council, Mrs. Aderonke Adedeji, pledged their full support to the candidacy of Farmer Omolara, urging her to keep moving in pursuit of her Aspiration, in order to achieve success at the end of the day.
The State Women Leader of the party, Dr. Felicia Opatunde, who expressed joy on the increased number of women in politics, assured members of good welfare, as soon as the party takes over Oyo state government in 2027, charging them to work towards its victory in the coming elections.
Dignatories at the event include; the over all APC leader in Egbeda local government, Chief Sule Suara Elegbeda, former council chairman, Pa Mufutau Oyewo, and the Coordinator for the Renewed Hope Agenda, in Egbeda local government, Bashorun Biliaminu Ogundele.

Others are; Dr. Adekemi Opatunde, APC Women Leader, Oyo State, APC former Senatorial Women Leader, Mrs Zainab Juwon, aspirant for Ibadan North East/South East seat in the House of Representatives, Mrs. Shakirat Adebola, party faithfuls, Farmers groups, women associations, among others.
Farmer Omolara’s declaration has now increased the number of aspirants jostling for the same ticket to 12, as political observers are watching with keen interest, political engagements and permutations, not only in Egbeda local government, but across Oyo state.
